A committee in the British Parliament is demanding that insurers reduce car insurance premiums, The Independent reports.
According to the politicians, who come from several different parties, car insurance cover costs have spun out of control, primarily because of increasing claims for whiplash injuries.
“Insurers, solicitors and claims management companies have themselves driven up the cost,” said MP Louise Ellman, who is chairwoman of the Transport Committee.
She also demands more transparency about the charges and who earns referral fees following road accidents.
